Case study: the Ministry of Finance
In 2012 the Dutch Ministry of Finance trialed the use of MSI Communication’s tool iBabs.
iBabs enables the user to prepare and conduct paperless meetings as well as to monitor the consequent decisions and actions. The solution was developed using the .Net framework for both the app as the backend. Data is stored in Microsoft Sql server.
Today, 600 employees at the Ministry use iBabs as their tool for paperless meetings. The Ministry’s Senior Advisor CIO Operations, Manon Vreugdenhil commented: “The need for paperless meetings was initiated by several governing bodies. During the pilot, iBabs became a popular tool for a variety of meetings. Our digitisation process was accelerated by the acquisition of additional tablets. These were handed out to the employees with several standard pre-installed apps, including iBabs.”
The Dutch Ministry of Finance’s secretary uses iBabs to sets up meetings, resulting in 90% of all meetings currently being paperless. The ability to make annotations within the app and share them with other users is highly appreciated by members of staff. Users describe the iBabs system as being very supportive during the meeting process, fulfilling the needs of the Ministry’s employees.
“The use of iBabs was not mandatory during the trial,” adds Manon Vreugdenhil. “Most employees experienced the app on the tablets of their colleagues, which resulted in a quick expansion of the user-pool.”
