Being one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands with some 11.000 employees and many departments, we spend a lot of time on consultation and meetings at the UMCG. Although we saw that tablet usage was increasing, until recently the UMCG was not yet fully ready for paperless meetings. The confidential documents that we use cannot just be uploaded into any system. We needed a system that had proven itself. Our search for a safe and reliable solution for paperless meetings led us to iBabs.
A pre-requisite for us was being able to host the data internally, so we could keep all our confidential data in-house. This allows us to comply with the NEN7510 standards, a norm for information security in Dutch healthcare. We must at all times be able to show which users have authorization for confidential documents. With iBabs this is not an issue. iBabs also allows us to link our data to other systems, our archive system for example. Our board of directors also uses iBabs for storing their documents.
Apart from securely storing our data, iBabs is a system which is pleasant to work with. It is tidy, all of the data can be accessed via one app and users find it easy to look up old data. Additionally, users can simultaneously access documents, even when these have been changed just before a meeting. iBabs offers great usability, which is a big plus. In the eyes of ICT-minded users most systems are easy to use, but for people with little computer experience this is not always the case. On top of this the iBabs team is great to work with. They listen to our wishes and new functionalities are quickly implemented. Working with confidential documents was one of these wishes which was promptly created.
